How to Choose a Retirement Community?
Choosing the best retirement community can be overwhelming. A good first step is to determine exactly what one is seeking. Safety? Look for a community that is gated, guarded and has a 24 hour emergency system in place. Socialization? Look for a community with lots of planned activities and a full time activities director. Recreation? These days communities come with everything from one simple clubhouse to swimming pools, horse stables, marinas and championship golf courses. Some emphasize one kind of recreation, which may be golf or equestrian activities. A sense of community? Smaller developments often provide more of this than large ones.
