Community of Coquina Crossing Has Attractive Homes, Lush Grounds and a
Location Near Florida's Northeastern Beaches
In Elkton, just fifteen minutes southwest of St. Augustine on Florida's northeastern coast,
Coquina Crossing is a gated manufactured home, land lease community for
people age 55 and better. The community opened in 1994 and
continues to grow.
The grounds are lush and well maintained, with ponds and palm
trees scattered among the 1,300 attractive residences that come in a variety of
pastel colors. Homes sit on nice sized lots with mature
landscaping and manicured lawns. Some residences have long
driveways, front porches and white picket fences, making it easy to
forget that is a manufactured home development. Dwellings come
with two to three bedrooms, two baths and an attached two car
garage. Interiors, particularly ones found in newer
models, are elegant with laminate wood flooring, tall windows,
ceiling fans, built in shelving, a formal dining room, vaulted
ceilings, tile in the baths and more. Home prices start at
around $50,000 and top out in the low- to mid-$100,000s.
Lot fees are approximately $600 per month (please
check with the community or a Realtor to verify these prices as they
may change). The fees cover access to the amenities, lawn
mowing and grounds maintenance. Homeowners are responsible for paying their own utilities and homeowner's insurance.
New home buyers are credit checked by the community. Pets are welcome, although some restrictions apply.
Residents enjoy a lovely 17,000 sq. ft. clubhouse, which has a
whitewashed exterior with a red roof. It houses a library,
a spa, a fitness center, a game room, a spa, a large kitchen, a
business center and a ballroom. There are also tennis

The community has numerous clubs, and social activities are scheduled throughout the
year. They are all planned and coordinated by a friendly full time activities director.
Florida's great beaches are just 10 miles to the east of Coquina Crossing, and wonderful St. Augustine, with all of its history and delightful shops, restaurants and pubs, is always a fun place to spend the day.
Its Flagler Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission and has
been nationally recognized for its clinical excellence, patient safety, emergency medicine and more.
St. Augustine is also home to the Mayo Clinic Primary Care Clinic.
Jacksonville, 45 miles to the north, is the place for big-city amenities,
boasting everything from professional football to world class live theater.
Summer temperatures are in the 80s
and 90s, and winter temperatures are in the 40s, 50s and 60s.
On average, the area receives 48 inches of rain per year.
On the comfort index, a combination of temperature and humidity, St.
Augustine ranks well below the national average. The sun
shines 225 days of the year, and the air quality is very good.
