Mount Olive Shores North is a motor coach home community, meaning it is a place where those who love their RVs can live with others who also love their RVs without hearing complaints from the neighbors about their vehicles.   This is an age-restricted, gated community with lakefront access, and each home is custom-built with a large, attached, covered  RV port, essentially giving the RV its own personal space next to the house.  350 homes are planned.
Best Place to Retire

As the developer stresses, Mount Olive Shores is not a campground.  It is an actual deeded development where residents purchase lots and build permanent homes on them.  There are no rentals.  Those who live here often spend more time on the open road than at home, and for some residents, Mount Olive Shores is a part-time or seasonal resting spot. One does not have to own an RV to call this community home, but it would not make much sense to buy property here otherwise (passenger cars look silly parked in the oversize RV ports).

There are 12 model homes, ranging in price from $148,990 to $345,990 (resales are more expensive).  The Egret is the $148,990 model and is a cute, 1 bedroom, 1 bath, 1,727 square foot home, of which about 800 square feet are devoted to the RV port.  The top-of-the-line Cartier model has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths and 2 enclosed RV ports (utilizing 2,000 square feet of the total 4,200 square feet)!   These prices do not include lot prices, which start at $60,000.  When RVs are hooked up and plugged in, they essentially double the size of the home.   Some lots are available for resale.  Call 1.888.667.6676 for more information.

All homes feature complete RV hook ups, horizontal lap siding, kitchen appliances, central heat and air, decorator wall coverings, carpeting or vinyl floor coverings, sodded lawns and landscaping.

For those planning on purchasing a home in Mount Olive, a $5,000 deposit is required when signing the purchase agreement.  There is a monthly fee for community maintenance, including lawn care, street repairs and amenities, which include access to 135-acre, fresh water Lake Margaret and a clubhouse with a fitness center and a pool.  The biggest selling point for those who love the RV lifestyle is the luxury of living in a community with others who love to travel and getting together with them to swap adventure stories or plan a trip.

Mount Olive Shores North is located just north of Lakeland, Florida, midway between Tampa and Orlando, and within 50 miles of Disney World, Epcot, Universal Studios, Sea World, Busch Gardens and Cypress Gardens.  Winters temperatures are in the mid-70s, but summers are hot and humid.   The community is far enough inland, though, not to receive much hurricane-related damage.
