The National Association of Home Builders has awarded the Parc at Buckhead, a new, elegant Atlanta apartment development, the "Best of 50+ Housing Award for Congregate-Independent Living for 2007," and it is easy to understand why.  This elegant, high-end, 55+ complex promises to offer many of the same services as a world-class hotel, including a 24-hour valet and concierge service and weekly linen and housekeeping service, making for a luxurious retirement, indeed.

Atlanta Real Estate

Parc at Buckhead has 20 floors and 193 apartments for lease; the seventeen floor plans include studios (600 sq. ft.), one bedroom with one bath units (839 sq. ft. to 1,134 sq. ft.), two bedroom with two and a half bath units (1,292 sq. ft. to 1,957 sq. ft.) and penthouse units.  Every apartment features finely crafted moldings, interior detailing, granite countertops and ceilings of 9 or 10 feet.  Units also have lots of closet space, a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, heating and air conditioning and a security and check in system.  Some one bedroom units have studies; some two bedroom units have double balconies, and penthouses have sunrooms.   All inclusive leases begin at $3,300 per month, and no capital investment or long-term contracts are required.  Call 404.442.2700 for more information.

Residents find plenty to do at the Parc as there are two full time club directors in charge of scheduling lectures, educational classes, bridge and drama clubs, tai chi classes, wellness programs, social hours, craft projects and ballroom dancing.   Amenities include an elegant dining room, a bistro cafe, terraced gardens, a state-of-the-art business center, a library with a fireplace, a fitness center, a cocktail lounge, a three-lane lap pool, a media center and a gorgeous lobby with a baby grand piano.  Continental breakfast and daily choice of lunch or dinner are standard (two executive chefs are on staff), and scheduled local transportation is available.  Parc at Buckhead does not, however, provide assisted living or health care.

The Buckhead neighborhood is an old money section of Atlanta, full of gracious homes, fine restaurants, theaters, parks, upscale shopping centers, cozy cafes and elegant hotels.  A few years ago the area was having problems with too many young partiers, but the city cracked down and many bars closed.  Now the neighborhood, located 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta, is known as the "playground for the city's elite cosmopolitans."   Two stylish shopping malls, the Phipps Plaza (Saks, Versace, Barneys, Tiffanys) and the Lenox Square Mall (Bloomingdale's, Pottery Barn, Burberry), are just down the street from The Parc, and the new free Buc is a shuttle bus that runs throughout the neighborhood.

Atlanta receives 4 to 5 inches of precipitation per month and has an average relative humidity of 72%.  Night time July temperatures dip into the high 60s and low 70s, and daytime highs can reach the 90s.  Winters are mild with night time lows in the 30s and daytime temperatures in the 50s and 60s.
