| Destinations at Sandhill is a
retirement apartment complex in Las
Vegas and offers one and two bedroom units for
less than $1,100 per month. This is an
option for those that prefer not to purchase real
estate upon retirement, and it is a more
affordable way to live in popular but expensive
Las Vegas. Destinations is a company with
nine similar active adult (55+) apartment
communities in the Vegas area, so if Sandhill is
not the best fit, there are other choices. |

Sandhill is a pet friendly community; cats and small dogs (under 25
lbs.) are allowed. Amenities are not on a par with
large, single-family, active adult developments, but there is a
state-of-the-art fitness center, a billiards room, a bocce ball
court and a resort-style pool and spa. Residents also enjoy
pharmacy deliveries and on-site banking. The community is
gated, has on-site management and provides shuttle bus
transportation to nearby shopping and other venues. Overall,
Sandhill has180 units, with elevators to units on the second and
third floors. Parking is covered, but there are no
garages.
Vegas' climate is hot and dry. Summer temperatures can
easily reach 105 degrees, but the city is surrounded by mountains,
so escape from the summer heat can also be found at higher
elevations. During the winter months, temperatures average a
pleasant 58 degrees, with lows dipping into the 30s. Humidity
averages a mere 20% in the afternoons.
