Las Campanas in the high desert of Santa Fe, New Mexico is an exquisite, master planned community that is age targeted but not age restricted.  Residents here enjoy gorgeous mountain scenery and an elegant lifestyle highlighted by world-class amenities that include two premier Jack Nicklaus golf courses and an equestrian center.  This development is situated on 4,800 acres and is comprised of twelve distinct neighborhoods.

La Campanas' architecture blends into the surrounding southwestern landscape, and semi-custom and custom luxurious residences come in several styles including Spanish pueblo, territorial, contemporary, ranch, log cabin and northern New Mexico pitched roof.   Some are attached homes that allow for "lock and leave" convenience and others are single-family homes and grand Haciendas, many nestled one to three acres.  Two bedroom, three bath homes with 2,200 to 2,500 square feet start in the low to mid-$800,000s and increase into the $3.5 million range.  Homes in the higher bracket come with a guest casita, and all dwellings adhere to community building guidelines to ensure that no stray architecture pops up.  One to three acre homesites, zoned rural residential, are also available starting at around $175,000.   Call 505-992-6420 for more information.

Golfers will love the two 18-hole championship golf courses; both are framed by spectacular scenery and are award-winning.  The Sunrise course has been rated by Golf Digest as the best course in New Mexico, and the Sunset course has been rated the fifth best course among new courses in the nation.  Two mountain ranges, the Jemez and the Sangre de Cristo, are just in the distance, and the 19-acre practice facility, with a three-tiered driving range, a putting green and two chipping greens, ensures that the play never ends.

For those with a love of horses and riding, the Equestrian Center is a delight and houses a riding hall, an outdoor jumping arena, an all purpose arena and a dressage court.   A variety of breeds are accommodated here, and miles of desert riding trails are just through the stable gates.

The stunning 46,000 square foot (which is huge) Hacienda Clubhouse is the nerve center of Las Campanas and the gathering spot for most social activities, including weddings and private parties.  It is a beautiful space and houses tennis courts, spas, pools and exercise facilities.

Residents are also invited to join the Club; as they say, membership has its privileges, and membership here is no exception.  There are several membership levels, and each allows a certain level of access to Las Campanas' amenities.  The least expensive membership is the Equity Social Membership, which is $60,000, plus $301 dues per month, and allows access to all Las Campanas' amenities and facilities except for the two golf courses.  The most expensive membership is the Equity Golf Membership, which is $90,000, plus $617 dues per month, and allows access to all amenities including unlimited golf and no green fees.  All memberships are transferable to new owners.

Las Campanas is just 15 minutes from Santa Fe's historic town square, so some outstanding museums, restaurants and shopping are nearby.    St. Vincent Hospital is a a state-of-the-art regional medical center and a Level II trauma center, providing cardiac care, comprehensive cancer treatments, MRI and CAT scans, radiology and ultrasound services, a same-day surgery center, a pain management center and intensive care units.

Santa Fe sits at 7,000 feet above sea level, which helps moderate the summer heat.  The sun shines, on average, 300 days a year.   It rarely rains, and there is very little humidity.   January temperatures can dip into the 30s, but the average day temperature is 45 degrees.   In July, it can reach the 90s or higher during the day.   Fall is generally the best season, with temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s.
