Located just outside of McCormick in western South Carolina, Savannah Lakes Village is an all ages community with single family homes and town homes spread across 4,000 acres. It sits along the shores of sparkling, 71,000-acre Thurmond Lake and offers a bounty of recreational opportunities. Construction began in the late-1980s and continues today. At build out, Savannah Lakes will have nearly 5,000 homes.
Residences are nestled within half a dozen wooded neighborhoods and range in size from approximately 1,200 square feet to 4,000 square feet. The town homes have two to four bedrooms and two to three baths. The single family homes have two to five bedrooms and two to four baths. All residences have an attached garage and are wired with fiber optic cable. Prices vary greatly, ranging from below-$100,000 to the $600,000s. Residences in the higher price ranges are generally along the lake.
Property ownership includes membership access to the amenities. Dues are approximately $100 per month. An addtional HOA fee and annual maintenance fee may apply. Please verify this with a Realtor as prices and fees are subject to change.
Although this is an all ages community, many of its residents are pre-retirees and retirees. They enjoy two lakefront 18 hole, championship golf courses, each with a clubhouse, as well as restaurants, tennis courts, a wellness center, an outdoor pool complex and direct access to Lake Thurmond. Holiday parties, trips, concerts, pancake breakfasts, coffee get-togethers, concerts, book discussions and art classes are just some of Savannah Lakes' social activities.
Nearby state parks, national forests and the Little River Blueway Outdoor Adventure Area give homeowners even more opportunities to stay active.
This area has a humid subtropical climate. Summer temperatures are in the 80s and 90s, and winter temperatures are in the 40s and 50s. On average, the area receives 50 inches of rain per year.
Abbeville Area Medical Center is 15 miles away in Abbeville and is accredited by the Joint Commission.
