Del Webb communities
are known for their excellent amenities and Frisco Lakes is no
exception. The 28,000 square foot Amenity Center is home to a state-of-the-art fitness center with cardio
equipment, free weights and strength-training equipment, an indoor
swimming pool and an outdoor one as well, plus a whirlpool, a grand ballroom, an
amphitheatre, a dance studio, a billiards room, a library, a restaurant, sports
courts, tennis courts, an arts and crafts room and more.
The yearly HOA fee is $1,200, paid quarterly.
There is also, of
course, an 18-hole golf course; this one is professionally managed
by Arnold Palmer Golf Management. There are more than 600
acres of open space, and nature trails, walking
trails and bicycling paths meander throughout the community (but
golf carts are allowed on Frisco Lake's streets for those who prefer
motorized transportation). A full-time activity is on
staff and dozens of clubs, from theater to poker, are available to
residents.
Nearly anything one needs can be found
in affluent Frisco, including two nearby hospitals (Frisco Medical Center and
Centennial Medical Center), but bustling Dallas is close at hand
when needed. Winters are generally mild; January
temperatures average in the mid-50s, but snow and/or freezing rain
appears on a handful of days. Summers can be hot with
temperatures reaching into the mid-90s. Precipitation measures
2 to 3 inches each month. Springs bring thunderstorms,
but autumns are quiet and pleasant.
